GARAGE SALE CANCELLED

Due to the potential for severe weather on Saturday, September 19, Maine Township has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Community Garage Sale.

This decision was made to protect the safety of residents, attendees, vendors, volunteers, and staff. The current forecast indicates a strong chance of severe thunderstorms, heavy rain (2+ inches), and strong winds, creating significant safety, setup, and operational concerns for this outdoor event.

The Garage Sale will not be rescheduled this year.

The safety of vendors, visitors, and staff is our top priority. Maine Township apologizes for any inconvenience and appreciates the community’s understanding.

Maine Township's 20th annual 80-family Community Garage Sale will be held, rain or shine, on September 19, 2026 from 9 am – 3 pm in the parking lot of Maine Township Town Hall, 1700 Ballard Road, Park Ridge. Space reservations for Maine Township residents will be accepted beginning August 3, 2026 at 9 am and on August 10, 2026 at 9 am for all others. Spaces are sold on a first-come, first-served basis and always sell out quickly. Vendors can conveniently reserve and pay for their space(s) online with a credit/debit card or eCheck. No processing fees will be charged. No refunds will be given for any reason.

All shoppers can register to win a child's bicycle that will be given away. Free coffee will be provided courtesy of Maine Township Supervisor Kimberly Jones, and donuts and lunch items will be available to purchase. Don't miss this popular event filled with bargains and fun for the whole family!

This event is organized by the MaineStay Youth & Family Services Department of Maine Township and is sponsored by Journal & Topics Newspapers, State Senator Laura Murphy, State Representative Michelle Mussman, State Representative Justin Cochran, Center for Discovery, Parkway Bank, Flood Brothers Disposal, Caruso's Pizza, and Maine Township Supervisor Kimberly Jones.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Adventure Maine Township Summer Camp. This camp program, coordinated by the Township’s MaineStay division since 2004, provides at-risk youth who qualify based on family income the opportunity to participate in safe, fun, and educational experiences to which they may not otherwise have access.

Garage Sale Space Reservations


To reserve a space you will need to register online. There are no refunds on spaces once purchased for any reason. Spaces are available for the following fees:

  • $30 for 8′ x 16′ outdoor space
  • $35 for 8′ x 16′ premium outdoor space (includes extra space on grassy area)
  • $75 for indoor space inside the garage
  • Table rentals are available for a discounted rate of $10 in advance or $20 the day of the sale (based on availability)
