Cooking Class

Learning how to cook can be fun, healthy, and help make kids more independent. This five-week class for ages 8-17 is taught by an experienced chef from Youthage Culinary Specialist. It teaches different cooking techniques, knife safety, and culinary concepts designed to encourage healthier lifestyle choices. Each session, participants will learn how to prepare a different meal with a new cooking technique. Participants will then be able to apply their newly-acquired skills to cook new meals they will love to eat.

This program is intended to be introductory and no prior experience with cooking is needed to register. We provide all the materials and the food.

This five-week class is offered for a minimal cost of $12/week. You can register your child for one or up to all five sessions. Participants must be between the ages of 8-17, meet family income guidelines, and reside in Maine Township (or attend a Maine Township school) to qualify for participation in this program. Advance registration is required.

The next session will meet from 4:30-6 pm on Thursdays at the Maine Township Town Hall from 9/12/24-10/10/24. To sign up, please register online using the link below. Space is limited to the first 10 participants who sign up for each week. If the class is full, you can join the waiting list.
