Future Leaders Peer Mentoring
Future Leaders has been recognized as a model mentoring program and is currently offered at Emerson Middle School (District 64). We are eager to partner with additional school districts to expand this peer mentoring program into more schools.
Volunteer High School Mentors Needed
We are looking for volunteers ages 15-18 willing to give 3 hours of time a month to serve as mentors to middle school students. Future Leaders provides an easy way for high school students to serve as positive role models to younger students through a peer mentoring relationship. We make it simple to connect with younger students by planning recreational and team-building activities and time for constructive interaction, conversation, and emotional support. High school mentors benefit by making a positive contribution to their community, developing new friendships and relationships, and seeing first-hand the positive and lasting influence they can have on a young person’s life. If you’re interested in a career working with children or want to enhance your college applications, volunteering provides a rewarding experience for both younger students and for you! A small contribution of your time can change the course of a child’s life.
