Center of Concern

There are many many ways you can assist the work of the Center:

  • Reception/Data entry
  • Telephone reassurance calls to homebound older adults
  • Holiday gift delivery
  • In-person grocery shopping and delivery
  • Serve meals to older adults through our Lunch with Us program
  • Handyman services or moving furniture/household items
  • Computers/internet (IT – Information Technology managers)
    • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain computer hardware, software, and
      networks
  • Corporate volunteer Opportunities
    • Encourage team-building and communication while receiving positive
      exposure by volunteering with the Center of Concern
  • Winter opportunities include Adopt-an-Older Adult and snow removal
  • Ambassadors for the Center of Concern
    • Volunteers represent the Center in the community and at local events
  • Event Committee Members
    • Volunteers work on committees to plan and execute agency events

Community Service Volunteers

  • Health and medical professionals
    • Psychologists and social workers
  • Income tax CPAs (Certified Public Accountants), bankers
    • Prepare simple federal and state income tax returns, especially for the tax
      season (February 1 through April 15)
  • Legal professionals, attorneys
    • Prepare simple wills, durable powers of attorney for health care and
      property
  • Medicare counselors
    • Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP)
  • Financial and money management
    • Volunteers assist with debt and money counseling to addresses financial
      concerns as well as developing a plan to live financially secure
  • Employment counselors
    • Volunteers assist job seekers of all ages to develop resumes, improve
      interviewing skills, and job search techniques
  • Digital literacy Program
    • Volunteers engage older adults with younger generations to learn about
      technology and ways to connect through the internet
