Transportation Coordinator
Pay Range: $17 - $20 per Hour, Non-Exempt
Benefits: PTO
Status: Part Time, Hourly, up to 19 hours per week

Position Summary
The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating Maine Township’s transportation program. Under the direction of the Township Administrator, this position works closely with transportation staff, drivers, and residents to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of transportation services to Maine Township residents. The position is also responsible for supporting compliance with applicable PACE, Federal Transit Administration (FTA), and National Transit Database (NTD) requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Schedule and manage appointments for rides for Maine Township residents traveling within Maine Township.
- Communicate with the public via phone for ride details, including location, pick up time and return time
- Use spreadsheet to determine availability of service and set appointment details
- Confirm appointments
- Update spreadsheet for cancellations and changes
- Share appointment spreadsheet with drivers and up to date information
- Communicate with Drivers to assure accuracy and high level of customer service
- Manage and schedule required vehicle service for Pace vehicle and Safety and Compliance Inspection Reports
- Prepare and submit monthly Reports and annual Vehicle Revenue Miles (VRM) and Vehicle Revenue Hours (VRH) Reports
- Prepare and submit National Transit Database (NTD) Reports and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Reports
- Learn and provide referrals to external community resources as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and time-management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple appointments and priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with residents, drivers, service providers, and government agencies.
- Ability to collect, track, and analyze transportation data, including Vehicle Revenue Miles (VRM) and Vehicle Revenue Hours (VRH). Training provided.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to learn transportation-specific software and reporting systems.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and meet required reporting deadlines.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Enjoy working with the public.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience with transportation coordination, scheduling, dispatching, customer service, public administration, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with PACE, FTA, NTD, or other public transportation requirements preferred, but could be learned on the job.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook (or similar) and Excel
