2025 Maine Township Triennial Assessment Notices Mailed
Effective June 4, 2025, the Cook County Assessor’s Office has mailed Reassessment Notices to all Maine Township residents.
If you have questions about your notice or need assistance, the Maine Township Assessor’s Office is here to help.
Deadline to File an Appeal with Our Office: Tuesday, July 15, 2025
Please note: While the Cook County Assessor’s Office has a later appeal deadline, Maine Township’s appeal date is three days prior to ensure timely processing of all appeals.
How to Request Our Help with an Appeal
✅ Option 1: Complete the Appeal Request Form (Preferred Method)
- Print and fill out the Maine Township Intake Appeal Request Form. Email the completed form to MTAssessor@mainetown.com.
- Or, pick up a hard copy from the mailbox outside the building, across from the main entrance. Drop the completed form into the grey mailbox next to the forms.
📞 Option 2: Call Our Office
- If you are unable to download or complete the form, leave a voicemail at 224-257-4830.
- Please include your name, address, phone number, Property Index Number (PIN), email, and a brief description of your request.
- Do not call more than once. Due to high call volume, repeat messages delay response times.
Other Ways to File an Appeal
File It Yourself Online:
- You may submit your appeal directly through the Cook County Assessor's online portal.
Hire an Attorney:
- If you prefer, you may hire an attorney to assist you with the appeal process.
Condominium Owners – Please Note
Maine Township is unable to file appeals for condominiums. This is because we do not receive the necessary data from the Cook County Assessor’s Office to properly process these appeals.
We strongly recommend that you contact your condominium association to determine the best way to proceed with filing an appeal. They may coordinate a group appeal or advise on next steps.
Missing 2024 Exemptions
Due to the high volume of property assessment appeals currently being processed, our office is unable to assist residents with filing 2024 exemption applications at this time. For assistance during this time, you may go to the Cook County Assessor’s office located at the Skokie courthouse. We will resume assistance with exemption filings after July 21, 2025.
We appreciate your patience and understanding.
