  • Dress warm and wear non-slip shoes 🧥fireplace with window to snowy scene
  • Walk slowly and carefully – Watch for ice/black ice 🧊
  • Shovel and salt stairs and sidewalks🧂
  • Never use your oven for heat. Never bring charcoal or gas grills indoors (they are a carbon monoxide hazard) 🔥
  • Do not leave candles unsupervised 🕯
  • Limit travel during severe weather/Keep a blanket in trunk 🚗
  • Keep emergency contacts handy 📞
  • Test Carbon Monoxide and smoke detectors 👁
  • Use electric space heaters with extreme caution – avoid placing them near curtains or other flammable materials and turn them off and unplug before going to bed. 🔌
  • Find a local warming center (public spaces/libraries/court houses/shelters) 🏛
  • During extreme cold temperatures, leave faucets open with a slight drip and cabinet doors open to prevent pipes from freezing
