Apply Now for the 39th Annual Community Paint-A-Thon
Maine Township is proud to share an exciting opportunity for residents in need of home improvement assistance through the 39th Annual Community Paint-A-Thon, administered by HandsOn Suburban Chicago.
While the event will take place on September 12, 2026, applications are now officially open and eligible residents are encouraged to apply early.
Programs like the Community Paint-A-Thon help neighbors support one another while improving the safety, appearance, and livability of homes throughout our community. Maine Township encourages eligible residents to apply and community members to get involved.
Who Qualifies?
The Community Paint-A-Thon is designed to support residents who may need assistance maintaining the exterior of their homes. To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Home must be owner-occupied
- Applicant must be one of the following:
- An older adult (age 60+), or
- A person with a permanent disability, or
- A veteran of any age
- Must meet certain income and asset guidelines (all are encouraged to apply)
- Must have current homeowner’s insurance
What Does the Program Provide?
If selected, homeowners will be matched with volunteer teams who will:
- Scrape and prepare surfaces
- Prime exterior areas
- Paint the outside of the home
Best of all - this service is completely free of charge to the homeowner!
